Circle2026-09-28 06:37:26Circle says co-founder Sean Neville stepped down, CFO plans to leave by end of 2026Circle, the issuer of USDC and listed under the ticker CRCL, disclosed two senior leadership changes in an 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Sept. 28. The company said co-founder P. Sean Neville, who had served as a director since 2016, resigned from the board effective immediately for personal reasons. Circle said the move was part of the board’s normal refresh process and was not tied to any disagreement over the company’s operations, policies, or practices. His departure reduced the board from eight directors to seven. In the same filing, Circle said Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Fox-Geen had notified the company of his intention to leave. He is expected to remain in the role through Dec. 31, 2026, or until a successor is in place, and the company said it has started a search with an executive recruiter. Circle also outlined the terms of his transition and separation arrangement, including a $500,000 annual salary during the transition period, a 2026 target bonus at 110% of base, continued equity vesting, $1.05 million in separation payments over 12 months, two months of additional RSU vesting, a 12-month extension of the stock option exercise period, and post-employment non-solicitation and non-compete restrictions.270
Sonic Labs2026-09-16 01:39:46Andre Cronje says Sonic Labs post on Michael Kong was "offensive" and unsupportedAndre Cronje, co-founder of Sonic Labs and founder of Flying Tulip, publicly backed former executive Michael Kong after Sonic Labs announced that Kong’s relationship with the company had been terminated with immediate effect. In a post commenting on Kong’s statement, Cronje said Sonic Labs’ related blog post was "offensive" and lacked support. He also argued that Kong’s eight years of contributions should be recognized. Cronje said Kong had raised concerns as early as 2018 about alleged plagiarism within the founding team. He added that after the project had raised $40 million and its funds had fallen to less than $2 million, Kong was the first to give up his salary. Cronje also credited Kong with pushing a roughly $150 million lawsuit in South Korea through to a win. Earlier in the day, Kong said on X that Sonic Labs recently disclosed that its relationship with him had been terminated immediately but gave no reason, which he said could leave the impression that he had been removed for misconduct. Kong said the departure was not voluntary. According to his statement, the two sides had signed a severance and mutual non-disparagement agreement, but Sonic Labs refused to honor it, and an earlier contractor agreement was also not fulfilled. He said he was responding publicly and reserving his right to sue Sonic Labs and affiliated parties.370

BitGo2026-08-12 21:03:01BitGo CFO to Leave on Sept. 15 as Q2 Swings to $19 Million Net LossBitGo said Chief Financial Officer Edward Reginelli will step down effective Sept. 15, according to an Aug. 12 disclosure, as the digital-asset infrastructure company posted a $19.0 million net loss for the second quarter. The result marked a reversal from a $38.3 million profit a year earlier, even though revenue climbed 79.6% to $4.33 billion. The company said Reginelli informed the board on Aug. 10 and that his departure was not tied to any disagreement over BitGo’s operations, policies, or practices. BitGo has started a formal search for a successor, and Reginelli is expected to remain involved in an advisory capacity during the transition. BitGo’s results showed heavy pressure on margins. Digital Asset Sales generated $4.20 billion in revenue and $4.19 billion in direct costs, while unit margin fell to 17 basis points. The company linked the decline to lower spreads on some spot trades and a smaller derivatives mix. Staking revenue rose from the prior quarter but its take rate fell to 6.0%. At the same time, Stablecoin-as-a-Service revenue jumped 148% year over year to $38.8 million. BitGo also said changes to investment priorities and its operating model, following June layoffs affecting about 15% of staff, are expected to produce roughly $15 million in annualized cash savings.1560
